I love these kids more than anything!! I love being a mother. I've always wanted to be a mother and couldn't wait for the day. Yes....some days are harder than other's, but really it's still very worth it. I love each of them so much, they are so individual and so different. Each of them teach me in some way and I am so grateful for that! I am so glad I am their mom, what an amazing blessing it is to be a mother!! There are some days when I really wonder if I can do this.....but I know with the Lord's help I can do anything!

Today our Primary presidency got released. I have to be honest....It was hard and very emotional. I teared up every time we sang each of their favorite primary songs. With each song we sang I felt the spirit so strong. It was very neat and I know the kids felt it too. These are very neat ladies and I am blessed to call them friends! They were such a strong presidency and worked really well with each other. They are going to be missed by so many! The kids just loved them so much!! Released were, president Adrienne and her counselor's Christy, Ghislaine and secretary, Amber. The pianist was Lori and was released. I am still the chorister. Ghislaine was called as the new president and will do a great job at it! Her counselor's are Holly libby, Claire Michaelson and secretary Mara Snider. The new pianist is Shannon Bair.

The kids had planned that when their jar of fuzzies was completely filled they wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese's. The Jar of Fuzzies was taken from a conference talk given by President Monson. He talked about dropping a warm fuzzy in a jar every time an act of service was performed or when you have done something good. I thought maybe we should try it with our family. The kids worked hard on getting that jar filled. We had a fun time with it!

Hannah and I both love our tulips very much. She asked me if she could have her picture by them. This particular day she picked out her uniform all by herself. It was so cute to watch her! She also told me she wanted to wear her hair "blonde" today. Yes, her hair is blonde....but what she means by this is that she wants her hair "down".

Sportsplex ~ Kidsplex

In November 09' I started working at the Sportsplex Gym in Kaysville. I work in the Kidsplex watching all the kids while mom and dad work out. We now have a family gym pass there and really like it. It's a great place! Hannah and Tyler love the days that I work there. They look forward to it every week....Hannah especially, she is my little helper and such a good little babysitter! Hannah had afternoon Kindergarten so I would do my shift from 9:00-11:30 and then rush off to get to S.A.A. in Syracuse just in time for school to start.

Lip Surgery

A couple months ago, back in February, Matt and Tyler Gibb Collided and had quite the accident. Matt's tooth went through his lip then went through Tyler's forehead. Matt got only one stitch and Tyler got 7 stitches. It was done at the IHC Insta Care there in Syracuse. One stitch was not enough to hold that lip together. He said he could poke his tongue right in it. So this is the first of 3 procedures and surgeries to getting it back to looking normal. He was so tough and very brave through it all.

They just barely gave him the medicine to nock him out

He was soooo nervous so it was good to see him calm down!

While we were spending the week in Smithfield, I drove the kids to the Logan Temple. It was a beautiful day....a little chilly but not to bad. We had a good talk about the temple and I answered all their little questions the best I could. Even thought we didn't go in I still felt a sweet spirit just being on the temple grounds. I need to remember to take them to the temple more often, they really loved it! It was a little to chilly for McKay, the wind was blowing up there so i just left him in the van with the door open. I got the van in the picture though!

He is such a great teacher. I think it was fun for him to have a guy teacher. My one and only time I had a male teacher in Elementary school was also in 4th grade! Kind of cool. I remember how much I liked my teacher- Mr. Peterson. Matt tells me Mr. Hardy is just as cool. He really is a great guy.

A Day At Shriner's Hospital

Waiting for Doctor Peter to come check out McKay's braces. His dafo's, which are his feet and ankle braces and his back brace.

Our wheelchair guy Matt, is making some changes on his wheelchair. You can tell McKay was loving every minute of it!! I'm just glad he was calm. When he's struggling or fidgety it's to had to get a good fitting. But when he's calm like this it's such a better fitting. So that worked out for us this day!! He made more changes this visit than ever before. McKay went through a growing spurt so his wheelchair needed to be altered quite a bit. You change one thing and then it starts a domino effect....one thing after another.

Very entertaining when you take 3 kids to the hospital. I try to make it as fun as possible....kind of like a field trip! With Hannah in Kindergarten, it made it hard sometimes to schedule his appointments. Because she had morning I would plan them in the early afternoon.

Strawberries dipped in chocolate is one of my MOST FAVORITE things in the whole world. I have many "food favorites" and they seem to switch around every couple of months or so, but these little beauties will be a favorite forever! Now it has become one of our family favorites. So we started a new tradition. Sunday's are our strawberry dippin' day. We may not do it EVERY Sunday but it's close to it! :)

This is how we do it ~ I know there are many ways out there to do this....but this is our FAV!

1. Wash the strawberries
2. Let them dry. This is very, very
important. pat them dry, lay them out to
dry- whatever it takes. They need to be
completely dry.
3. Get Bakers Dipping chocolate, real milk chocolate
it comes in a little container, labeled- heat & dip
follow directions to melt.
4. Dip the strawberries and lay on wax paper on a
cookie sheet
5. put in fridge for 15 minutes. They have to harden
enough to where they POP of the tray.
They're not to hard and not to soft. They are PERFECT!

EAT AND ENJOY!!! oh yeah....and DON'T count the calories :)

This is Matt's 5th grade teacher Mrs. Warren at the Syracuse Arts Academy. She is SUCH a GOOD teacher. She was always so positive and just always had a way to make you feel good. He really thinks she is the greatest.

I asked Matt to tell me 5 cool things about her. this is what he said:

2. She did SOMETHING..... WOW.... about math. I don't know what it was, but she just for some reason made me love math. She made me awesome at math.
3. She would give me harder assignments especially in math.

Emalee Rogers is getting married!! So that means it's time to go shopping.
We all met up Saturday morning at her house all ready for the big adventure. We went to a couple of places but found "the one" at the second store. It was at the Gateway - Latterday Bride. The minute she put it on- I knew it was the one. We didn't want to push her into getting something that she really didn't want. So we all tried to keep our thoughts to ourselves. The minute she put it on- you could tell.... she LOVED it! She looked so beautiful!!! I have decided I LOVE weddings. They are just way to much FUN!!

McKay is Feeling Better

McKay is feeling better and just wanted to let everyone know. He was admitted into Primary Children's Medical Center on Thursday. He was pretty sick. He spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The doctor is hopeful that McKay can go home either tomorrow or Tuesday.

so excited when he was told at Junior jazz practice that there would be a jazz clinic in Ogden. It was for all Junior Jazz players....so it was going to be packed. So Dad, Matthew and some of his friends packed up and went to Ogden to see if they could get in.

They did get in.... and they got to go down on the court and play with him too! So LUCKY!!

Hannah's 6th b-day Party

Happy Birthday Hannah! January 9th, 2010. Because her birthday is on the 26th of December I plan on having her friend party either at the beginning of December or in January after everything has calmed down from the holidays. This time around we did it in January. It was perfect timing! Just what we needed....a PARTY! This year She had a Ballet party. They did a little craft at the beginning, played button button, I taught the girls some ballet and let them dance around, and ate her favorite- chocolate cup cakes. Her little friends were so sweet and fun. She was so thankful they came to party with her to celebrate her 6 birthday!! Happy Birthday Hannah girl! We love you!

End of the Year FUN!!

When all the Roe family comes we try to go skiing at least once all together. It had been a long time since I had been there and I was surprised to see how it has all changed a bit. I liked the new addition to the lodge. Matt and John snowboarded and I skied....which is something I haven't done in 4 years. It felt great getting back on the slope. I've missed it! It was a great day for all who was able to go. then the next day turned out to be a very snowy day. So we thought it would be a good day to go sledding at the cemetery. So we all bundled up and drove 2 blocks away from the Roe home and had fun with the sleds for a few hours. Matthew worked his skills in making a sweet jump! The cousins had fun working on that in between runs down the hill. Hannah kept trying over and over to make it to the jump. For some odd reason every sled she rode would veer off to the left and then she'd miss it by a few inches!! She was determined to off that jump! We had fun watching Tyler try to walk up the hill in his boots and then he'd slide down on his rear. He always had a snowball in his hands and every few seconds would take a bite out of it. The cousins had some serious fun sledding that day!!

Winter Wedding

One of John's youngest cousins Josh, got married during the Christmas break to Abby. Josh and Abby were married on December 29th. Christmas is Abby's favorite holiday so she thought it would be neat to get married around this time. It was a beautiful wedding and reception. It was fun having lots of the family there. we were also able to catch up with many of the cousins. We were even able to round up all the grandkids that were there for a picture. (not as easy as it sounds!) Such a great night. What a fun night it was to celebrate the marriage of these two!!

Ice Skating

We woke up the day after Christmas all excited to go ice skating. It was Hannah's birthday and she chose to go ice skating. Hannah loved it. She is getting better and better each time we go. She loves how she can skate around without holding on to anything. Tyler went for his first time ever. He wanted someone to hold him the whole time though but he's still little so maybe next year his ankles will be stronger to hold him up. McKay had a relaxing time...he slept the whole time we were there. But hey..... he did it, and that's what matters. He wanted to join in the fun. And like always, Matthew was zipping around the rink. Uncle Ryan and Ethan were in town visiting from Virginia and came with us. Ethan loved it! Fun times!!

We headed to Cache Valley around 3:00 on Christmas Eve. I did my weekly 2 1/2 hour shift at the Sportsplex gym in the daycare earlier that morning then went home and finished packing up. The party this year was going to be at Mary and Pat's. The kids wanted to leave as soon as possible so they were being my big helpers and were loading the van for us. We first got to my mom's and unpacked and made some Chocolate chip cookies. We had to make sure we saved some for Santa. Once we got to the Warren's, Santa's arrival was soon after that. Tyler just stared at him. He didn't cry once. He was even willing to sit on his lap with no hesitation! I think he thought Santa was pretty cool! We ate our dinner and played a fun game that Mary came up with. Before the kids went to bed they wrote a little note to Santa, each writing something. Then they made sure that their plate for santa was ready..... cookies and milk and some carrots for the reindeer.

Matt's piano recital at his teacher Carrie's home

Right after Hannah's dance review we had to quickly get over to Kaysville to Matt's piano recital. It didn't start until 7:30 so it worked out perfectly. Matthew looked so sharp in his suit. When it was his turn his teacher realized she did not have her part of the sheet music for the duet that they were doing together. She looked and looked for it while everyone sat waiting for her. She gave up and just made him do it on his own. It was good.... but you didn't get the full effect without both of them doing it together. Then just before the last person did their peice she remembered where she had put it! She ran and grabbed it and her and Matthew got to do it. It was so much better! It sounded so AWESOME. I was so happy she found it, after all... he's practiced so hard and it would have been a bummer if he couldn't have performed it. It ended up being a great night! Grandma linnea and grandma Leah loved hearing him play too!!

Christmas Dance Review

A fun part of the Christmas holiday was being able to watch the kids perform. Here is Hannah
getting ready to dance, waiting her turn very patiently. She danced to the song 'Santa Clause is Coming to Town'. Grandma Leah and grandma Linnea came with us. We thought it was way cute. She did a great job!! She just looked so cute and little on that stage. I just want to keep her little for as long as I can! If she heard me say that she would be very quick to let me know that she's not little... she is big now. Tyler is little...not me.

We went to Cache Valley to G-ma Linnea's this year. We drove up the night before after Matt's Comp basketball game Wednesday night. Got up Thursday morning and got things ready for the Thanksgiving feast at 1:00. It was soooo good. It's just a shame that we have to get full. All that preparation and it's over so quick. Good thing we always make more.... the left overs are the best part. The kids were so excited that we got to stay over 3 nights. They had a fun break!!

Family party in Grandma Leah's back yard. Uncle Clair and uncle Pat made a fire in the pature in the back yard. Back in the day her and my g-pa Harmon raised animals back there, but now it's just land. I still call it the pasture. We drove up Saturday afternoon after Hannah's soccer game. She did really good, she made three goals! So cool!! When we got to grandma's the fire was all ready going. The kids were in heaven. I remember thinking.... "we need to do this more often." They were really enjoying themselves playing in the grass and dirt and climbing on things. I truly believe there's just something about little ones playing in nature. It's just so natural for them. They need it for some reason. I had a good time sitting in the lawn chair eating , visiting....just kidding!... I just remembered that I wanted to sit down but couldn't because I was constantly trying to keep Tyler out of the fire. He's just at that little stage where he's mesmerized by it. Maybe next year he'll understand a little bit more and I will be able to sit for more than 30 seconds!

The Roe Circus

The kids could not wait until Friday. It was Matthew's 11 birthday and the kids had planned a
way fun trip to the zoo. It was Matt's idea, since it was his birthday he got to choose. We had planned to go in the morning. I figured it would be way easier to take these three while McKay had school. We have early outs on Friday so we had to be quick. It was parent teacher conference for Hannah and Matthew so that's why we were able to choose something fun to do during the day. If McKay were to come that would mean I would be pushing a stroller and a wheelchair around. we were going to be there a total of 3 hours- so I knew we had to be quick on our feet. I know the kids would have helped out...they always do- but we are talking about my emotional well being!... honest truth... I would have been a mess- so thank you again to McKay's wonderful school teachers that take care of him so much so that I can enjoy a 3 hour trip to the zoo. They have no clue what it means for me. I don't know what I would do without their help.

So we woke up spent the morning at the zoo, drove to Syracuse rec center for Matthew's Basketball practice and then drove home to the bus pulling up in front of our house to drop off little McKay- arriving just in time. I wanted to suprise Matt and take his team cupcakes at the end of practice, so as quickly as I could without banging my hands up and pinching my fingers...loaded McKay in the van and headed to syracuse AGAIN. Matt was way excited and of course the boys loved the cupcakes. We came home and shortly after that John got home and we sat down and ate Matt's favorite meal. Strogonoff. He loves that stuff.

After all that you'd think we would head off to bed, but no....we loaded the van back up and headed to the movie theater. We saw Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs 3D. Tyler was a little handful but I think we survived.

As I'm writing this it's reminding me of our fun, and crazy packed day's we had in Florida for our MAW trip. In John's journal every night we would sit down and record everything we did that day. We are a circus! At least in my little mind we are. I just feel that no matter what we do- it's just a lot of stuff and well.... a lot of work. It rarely goes smooth if you know what I mean. I think when you have little one's that just comes with the territory! we have 4 kids... bags.... McKay's backpack, a stroller with a baby in it, a wheelchair, two diapers that usually need changing, two kids that need naps and usually a kid or two throwing a fit, treats, sippy cups, little toys, and usually a mom and dad trying to figure out what to do next. We are the Roe Circus. So anyway... what I'm saying is this really was a fun day to celebrate Matthew's birthday. We love doing things together and making fun memmories. It may be tons of work but it's so worth it!! I would do anything for these little ones!

This is what I found earlier in the day! She spent a little bit of time in my closet and came down stairs with this little outfit all put together- including her little pink purse. It's all mine but the purse and pajama pants. Then a little later in the day she spent some time in Matt's room and came out looking like this! I think it's so good for her to have an older brother. I so wish I had one...so I'm glad she has a couple! You would have never caught me dead in a football outfit. My sister Tara- for sure but never me. It just makes me smile. She is such a funny girl. So spunky and full of life!!

We got our family pictures done! This year it was actually quite a bit smoother than last year...thank goodness!! McKay's G-tube didn't leak and he didn't have a blow out either! Last years blow out took 1/2 hour to clean up. Which means John got to wear his outfit that I had planned on for 2 weeks, and we didn't have to make an emergency shopping trip minutes before pictures were to be taken! oh....and our Van started. Last year we had to jump our old van to even get to the park. So... really, it was a lot better!! Everything went as planned. Our friend Shane Bell took them this year and did a great job! He was awesome!! We met him in Ogden at the Union Station. What a great area that was!

We planned a little girls outing- shopping, dinner, and visiting or in my case (therapy!) in the evening we went to the Conference Center for the Gen. Relief Society Meeting. Aunt Faye who lives in Indiana was here for my Uncle Alan's funeral got to spend the day with us. We had such a good time. I feel very blessed and lucky to have a mother and a grandmother to make memories with. Both My mother and Mary never got the chance to do any of this with a grandma. I love my grandma very much and Love spending time with her. I miss our walks we would take in the morning when I lived there in Smithfield back when I first got married. She has always been an example to me and has taught me so much.

These women have always been there for me and has supported me through so much. I love them dearly. They have so much to give and so much love. Thank you for everything!

Welcome to Kindergarten Hannah!!

Her very first day of school. Matthew and Hannah started on August 20th. This was a year of new things for these two. New school, new friends and new teachers.

Hannah couldn't wait! She wanted to be a big girl and go to school like her
big brothers. Tyler was sad to see them go.

She has waited for this day for so long!!

McKay started school a few days later on August 24. He's in 4th grade. He gets to ride the bus every day. School is so good for him. He gets to do so much and looks forward to it every day!

To celebrate his birthday we took the family camping. No, it wasn't a nice hotel or anything luxurious like that but it was fun. Enjoying the outdoors, river, dirt and campfire and all. Camping always is a big job when you have 4 kids but I always find a few moments of where I feel like it's worth it. If anything the kids absolutely love it. We went with our neighbors the Smith's, Dearden's, Wiseman's, Hansen's. So much fun! One thing I learned..... I want a really good tent- that's big enough for all of us!

and I also learned.... without John I don't think I could go camping. I hope John knows how much I love him and how much I need him. My life is better and complete with him.

WICKED is in town, and Emalee surprised us!!
For John and I it was our second time and for Emalee and Matthew it was a first. Since the day John and I flew to Denver with some friends a couple years ago to see it, he has patiently waited for this day. We all were very excited. I would have to say it was even better the second time around. I loved every moment of it!

I want to share a little part with you

"One of the things I loved most about flying was departing from a dark and rainy airport, climbing through thick and threatening winter clouds, and then suddenly breaking through the dark mist and steeply gaining altitude into the bright sunshine and endless blue sky.
I often Marveled at how this physical act parallels our personal lives. How often do we find ourselves surrounded by threatening clouds and stormy weather, wondering if the darkness will ever pass? If there were only a way for us to lift ourselves up from the turmoil of life and break through to a place of peace and calm.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints know that such a thing is possible; there is a way to rise above the turbulence of everyday life. The knowledge, understanding, and guidance we receive from the word of God and from prophetic guidance in our day show us how to do exactly that."

Then he talks about the "Lift"
"In order to get an airplane off the ground, you must create lift. In aerodynamics, lift happens when air passes over the wings of an airplane in such a way that the pressure underneath the wing is greater than the pressure above the wing. When the upward lift exceeds the downward pull of gravity, the plane rises from the ground and achieves flight.
In a similar way, we can create lift in our spiritual life. When the force that is pushing us heavenward is greater than the temptations and distress that drag us downward, we can ascend and soar into the realm of the Spirit.

He then talked about how Prayer was one of the gospel principles that help us achieve this lift.
for some reason this article touched me so much. Maybe it's because I have a strong testimony of prayer and I know it works. I have had to use it so much in my life, and can't imagine living without this wonderful gift of communicating with my father in Heaven. Even this week I have turned to prayer time and time again. On Wednesday McKay started getting sick again. His fever went up, he started to turn pale, started vocalizing and swinging his arms and legs around. You could tell he was not feeling good at all. I had a prayer in my heart the whole morning. I often stopped to say a little prayer. Then John gave him a priesthood blessing. I wanted everything to be better right then and there.... but it didn't go away immediately. He struggled in my arms for a while and then John noticed something. He was calming down. John took him from me and held him. I just kept praying that we wouldn't have to take him to the hospital again. then in John's arms he fell asleep. FINALLY! He was comfortable. It was the greatest feeling. He slept the rest of the day, and has been fine ever since. I know it was because of the priesthood and all the praying that I(we) did. I know he hears and answers.

"Prayer helps us transcend the stormy times. It reveals to us another vista-a glorious spiritual horizon filled with hope and the assurance of the bright blessings the Lord has promised to those who love and follow Him."

This Week.....

This brought a smile to Matthew's face. My Mom sent the cutest care package about 3 days into the week. The timing could not have been better. He was starting to get really bored and this helped so much. In it were several activities and little treats that kept him preoccupied. That Silly putty that we used to get for Christmas when growing up (I now have passed on the tradition to my children) It came in so handy. He just lays there making different animals and shapes. The bubblegum...... well, grandma Linnea know it's his favorite. When he saw the gum his smile grew 2 times in size. It was the cutest thing.

Yes it's been a rough week but if you switch over and look at the positive side of it all, here is what you get:

~More one on one time with each other
~get to watch some great movies
~I get to get caught up on my laundry
~We have to slow down a bit
~Save on gas money
~Get to spend more quality time with John (They did not want to get sick so they told him to stay home) Lucky me! I have to say it has been good to have him here- I know I would have gone CRAZY without him here.
~Some good reading time. I was able to finish two books, read the ensign and the scriptures.
~We would all get up and get ready.....and have nowhere to go.... It was great!
We got to sleep in our own beds...unlike the rest of my Mother's side of the family at the family reunion that we missed out on.
~Save money- I did not run one errand this whole week. at least once a day I'm out running some kind of errand- so this was good for our bank!
~I've personally met all of Sparkle's (Hannah's) dolls- I've known them before, but now I really know them. We have played house all week.
~Got to go to bed early
~worked on our Annie, and Mary Poppins songs, and the 50 states song. (singing helps the day go by quicker!!)
~we don't have to suffer from any bad sunburns...unlike the majority of you!
~spent much time on the tramp.... there not a hour that goes by that Hannah does not ask if daddy or I will go jump with her. So many fun games you can play on the tramp!
~We've also had to turn to our Heavenly Father so much. I know he has helped us through this and I am so grateful for that.
~and having pop cycles and ice cream daily is not to bad either!

If you were to go in Matthew's room right now...this is what you would see. He's got
Influenza A / Swine Flu. He got it on Sunday night. Found out on Tuesday that he was REALLY sick. Doctors orders are: stay quarantined in his room for 7 days. family- wear masks, wash hands, sanitize hands- especially if we have to go into Matt's room. stay in our house as much as possible- an occasional trip to the grocery store might be okay.... but than again that depends on who your talking too. It might not be safe to go anywhere. but anyway..... the kids all got put on Tamiflu last night. that was a wopping 300$$ Seriously- who's got that much money laying around. WE DON'T!! The doctor ordered that John and I go on it too- but I'm not sure if I want too if it costs that much. But we have to be so careful with this. We don't want little McKay to get it worse- well and really...I don't want to get sick. We're making that decicion today- so who knows....we might be on it tomorrow. John is not going to work- of what I know of he took 3 sick days- and is just working from our bedroom. so here we all are. McKay is laying over there. Tyler is playing beside me. Hannah wanted a little nap so she's in her room. Then in the next room over you've got the "do not enter room- or die" room with Matthew laying there. and then accross the hall you've got John at his little desk working on his laptop. I feel like we are running a hospital. yep... the Roe Hospital. The only thing missing here is the nursing wages!

We changed things up just a bit!
This is my first wall- ever that I've painted in my own home.
It makes me want to paint more! John left one week to be up at USU- and so I told my friends- and we stayed up one night...doing this! Jamie and Megan also did my room- absolutely amazing- I haven't taken pictures of that yet. Let's just say when John came home - he thought he just walked into a hotel. I love my home now...I've always loved my home but now I actually really like being here. As a wife and mother- a lot sure happens at home- you better like it right?!

My friends helped me rearrange my whole house. Here you see the top of the cupboards. I was a little bit old fashion- but they quickly got me back up to date!

What a neat experience this was to take Matthew and Hannah to the Temple. They were able to go through for the first time ever. We took a tour through the entire Temple... The Sealing room, the endowment room and the Celestial room included. My favorite part was standing in the Celestial Room with my husband and 2 of my 4 children. I can't even imagine what that day will be like and what emotions I will be feeling when they each go through the temple for the first time. What a wonderful thought that is- and what a great feeling it brings to me.

We went with some wonderful friends of ours. Taylor's, the Smith's, the Dodges, and the Wiseman's. We were able to talk and share so much.

I love the Temple....
I'm going to try to go more often. It brings so much strength to me.

Here are a few fun idea's that I have for you

* Cards are way fun to get but instead of collecting cards- start your own notebook of letters. Just buy a special notebook that you can have specifically for this. one that can be kept for years to come. Write in it on holidays or for any special occasion- or whenever you fell like it- surprise him/her and they will love it!

* Read old love notes you wrote to each other from when you were first dating or married.

* On your way home from an evening's activities, pull over at a quiet spot, turn the radio on a bit louder and have a romantic dance for two!

* Find a photo booth or get a camera and take some silly/romantic pictures together.

* Reenact your first date, going to the same places and doing the same things.

* Time- is so important. Just give them your TIME!!

so imagine my face, Hannah's face and little Ty's face all smashed up against our front window looking at what was right in front of us. We were speachless. they were EVERYWHERE! on every tree on every limb- on every roof.
I wish I had a better camera- this does it no justice.
Then out of nowhere....they started flying towards us. a couple 100 almost hit our window but for some odd reason managed to not. thank goodness or that would have been real scary! Look close at the big one at the top- It was inches from our faces.

So life has been interesting. This is what happens when your not careful on the stairs. I thought I was at the bottom and had one more to go and fell on it hard. I thought I broke it. I'm still wondering if I did something more than a sprain. It happened three weeks ago and still hurts bad. Yes this is a picture of me with my foot in an ice bucket. Yes I did it! I don't think I'll be doing that again- only crazy people keep their feet in Ice cold water!

Matthew is now 10, so.... yes this was a couple years ago. but I'm so excited because I lost it and now it's found. this was such a great day. So many memories flood my mind. I wish he would stay little forever. But growing up is fun too. He's such a fun, happy boy.

HANNAH TURNS FIVE!

We had a surprise friend birthday party for Hannah at home on the 13th. It was a
Princess Ballet party. Boy was she surprised!

She had so much fun. We had all of them quiet at first playing "button, button, who has the button" and then we danced to "Miss Puffy". Every kid their was dancing- It was the cutest thing ever. Grandma Linnea could not make it because of the weather- aahhhh! she was bringing the cake! I quickly ran to the store and got the stuff and ran home and made one - it wasn't the best but it was okay. I made a chocolate cake for Hannah because for a whole year she reminded us that she only got a doughnut last year!! So I had to quickly make one.... but than I gave all the kids a cup cake.

we celebrated her birthday with my side of the family on her birthday. That night we ended up having a fun family party. Yes it was Hannah's b-day but it was also the day after Christmas when all the family still wants to get together and visit. So I combined them. Some may think that's bad- but She didn't seem to mind. It turned out fun. My Cousin Dana and I told all the family to bring something to add to the table- many of the cousins brought some tasty stuff! We were in Smithfield from Christmas Eve until January 2. So many things were planned. The first thing Hannah wanted to do on her birthday was....Ice skate- with grandma! I couldn't find my camera so no pictures. but at least I got it on the video camera. it was great, by the end she was doing it all by herself! She was one happy 5 year old!
*she said, "mom! When you turn 5 you can skate all by yourself!"

At the very end of opening her presents John Daddy had her close her eyes and brought in her big bike. again we surprised her!
She asked me if it was too big. I told her- No you'll get used to it!

He just had to give it a try- and wouldn't get off it either

yeah very close to the candle flame and Yes it got burned! I had to hit her hair to make the flame go out. She had no clue what was going on

The kids got to play with Big Blue at the basketball game and loved every minute of it. You would have thought we were at Disney World again. Big Blue was so awesome with the kids

John's side of the family went to Beaver Mtn. to ski and snowboard- It was the best day. Matthew has been before but this was technically his first time really snowboarding.

We spent the last days of our trip at the Roe home. So we basically bounced back and forth. We saw a few dollar movies. Got some yummy Chinese food- Tiny spicy chicken- so good! played in some great snow- and watched the kids build a snow fort.

The Christmas vacation ended with John and Matthew, uncle Mike and grandpa Ken watching the Sweet Win of the University of Utah!!! Yes I am an Aggie- but depending on who's playing who- I switch. It just depends. But the other night I was a Utah Fan!

These little cookies are the best! I love the memories that fill my mind as I make and smell them. I've decided they are my favorite home baked cookie. Andy Mint cookies are good too, but nothing beats sitting at the kitchen table (or couch) sitting comfortably indulging myself with as many pumpkin cookies as I want while drinking my tall glass of milk. I could do this in the morning, noon or night. The best time being after everyone has gone to bed! The quietness throughout the house makes them that much yummier. Guess what....they're healthy- it's got pumpkin in it! So now that this is the time of year when everyone is trying to cut back on everything and do more working out- if you just have to make cookies- make these.

My Mother's Pumpkin Cookies

2 cups Shortening

2 cups Sugar
1 16 oz. Pumpkin
2 eggs
2 t. Vanilla
4 cups flour
2 t. Baking Powder
2 t. ground Cinnamon
1 t. Baking Soda
1 t. ground Nutmeg
1/2 t. ground All Spice

cream Shortening and Sugar. Then add pumpkin, eggs and Vanilla. Beat well
In a separate bowl mix dry and add 1 t. salt
add that to creamed

Bake at 350 for 15 min.
and enjoy!

Thanksgiving at Entrada

Thanks to Johns mom and dad we were able to stay in some sweet condos for Thanksgiving. We had such a great time. so fun but yet so relaxing too!

They got 3 condos for us. Robin, rob, and Ryan were in one. Mike and Nan were in another and jim and us were in the other. Ours got nicknamed the "party house" It was the biggest- and could hold us all for the most part!

Here we all are.....This is all 35 People- except Rob was in the shower and Brennen ditched us. John's sister Sandee who lives in Indiana was not able to make it this year and John's brother Dusty and his family went back to their home in Hurricane and went to church. but seriously....trying to get this many people together for a family picture is near impossible! So you get what you get!!!

John does have some good lookin' brothers but look at the beautiful scenery. I have not been to St. George for 10 years. We've been to Panguitch several times and they do look very similar I guess. It's just so different. Living so close to these mountains I did feel a little lost without them.

This here is a little paved side walk that went between two of the condos. It was so great! Everyone was ripsticking, scootering, and running up and down it. We couldn't have planned it any better.

Here's Tyler, Emily, McKay and I in the room where we stayed. It was huge! let's just say the fam was very nice to let us have it. They wanted us to have it so that McKay would be stationed at the PaRtY hOuSe that way we wouldn't have to move him much. It made it very nice! Thanks again to all the family- if your reading this. Our closet was so big that it not only held all our clothes and stuff but it became Tyler's bedroom. It was GREAT! He slept so good.

Because I had heard so much about it- seriously it had been out for what- a week or so- I was patient enough to wait to see it with my SIL's. and yes it was worth the wait. We had a blast. the movie before ours was sold out and the movie after ours was sold out...so we were very lucky to get in when we did. We were all a little gitty- so that made our photo shoot that much more fun!

It was such a fun Thanksgiving. Thanks again Ken and Judi for giving us this fun trip. I'm sure having 10 Children wasn't the easiest and I know you both have sacrificed so much through it all. Now there are just so many people to love....and yes we do love them all!!!

We have 3 birthdays in August. So me not sure if I had the energy to plan 3 different birthday shin digs.....decided to celebrate them all together.

This was a big one for each of them....
# 35 for Mr. Roe
#8 for McKay
#1 for Tyler

I got them each their own cake. John's favorite is cheesecake so I make him one every year. Tyler got his own little white cake. and Aunt Cindi brought a few chocolate- one for McKay and some for all of us to eat.

And then September came around and it was my birthday.... Sep. 19, 1978.....this means i'm turning 30 years old......

I knew this was going to be a rough one... so something had to be done.....so I partied all week!

4 other friends had September b-day's too. Ashley, Deborah, Lora and Jamie. So Jamie and I decided to plan a girls night at her house. (she was the one with the husband out of town!) The girls in our neighborhood are always up for a party. so we thought why not!

and talk about party... this was one PARTY!!!
every one of these girls are so stinkin' fun!

We even played some Rock Band- and boy are we good!!!

We seriously had so much fun! It was so good to just sit back and relax. We ate some great treats, visited , and played a few games..... We got some good laughs in as well!

I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such neat, talented and wonderful people. Thanks for making my 30th birthday one to remember!!!
