First Wicked Aniversary

JB Ashlee Hinrichs, Us, Matt Laurie Sorensen, Tara brad Poll

Last weekend was the one year mark from when we saw wicked for the first time. What a great day that was. John for Christmas surprised me with the tickets and the following May of 07 we flew to Denver Colorado. We had all studied our "wicked", learned all the songs by heart and just couldn't wait to see how they played it out on the stage. I still remember how I felt when I heard the first beat of the first song when it started. Awesome! I can't wait to see it again! We are patiently waiting for the arrival of "wicked" to Salt Lake... and when it comes Matthew will finally get to see it. The top picture is us at our hotel getting ready to go to Wicked. The bottom picture is of the husbands just outside the ESPN Zone store. Unfortunately their was a Jazz game going on the same night (who planned that one?!) so we hung out a bit here to watch that. 3 out of 4 of us were pregnant, so there was a lot of eating going on- what do you expect! We had dinner at the Cheese factory. Very yummy! We stayed over one night and headed back the next morning. So really a good time was had by all! Thanks again John for the best Christmas present- that was very thoughtful of you. And happy Wicked Anniversary Ashlee, Laurie and Tara!

Bitter ~ Sweet

Hannah, Emalee, Matthew, Tyler, Libby, me, John, & McKay

This was definitely one of those nights you could
could call bitter sweet! I just hate saying good bye- it's not fun. I just have to keep telling myself that it's not forever. Libby just left for Her mission to Nebraska and Emalee just moved to Arizona to play soccer for the summer. I look back over the years and can't believe how time flies. It seems as though it was just yesterday when they came to babysit for the first time. How it all worked was John and I were going to the temple and didn't have a babysitter lined up yet. When He went to teach that day I called him to see who I should call and he said he would find some students to do it. Well....Emalee and Libby said yes (They had no clue what they were getting themselves into!!) So that night the kids and I met Emalee, Libby and another girl- Monique for the first time. So they started out as some of John's Viewmont High students.... then our babysitters. These girls basically lived here that first summer. It was awesome having Nannies around to help with everything. In fact.... that was the summer we left for EFY in Massachusetts and came back to a perfectly clean home and awesome yard. These girls can do everything! Then from our babysitters.... to our friends. Let's just say these two are amazing. They both are so talented in so many ways. Our family loves them so much. It's always a party when one of them comes to visit. We've told them both to just consider themselves as part of the family! Again, thanks you two for everything- the fun, the laughter, the tears, the sharing, the listening, the memories, the love, and the help. You've done more for me than you'll ever know! I Love you!

~Miracles for McKay~

Well.....something really neat is happening. In fact- I think it's to good to be true! We really don't even know what to say or where to start... but can I just tell you that we have some of the greatest and neatest friends and family who have taken upon themselves several projects that they didn't have to do- but have chosen to do so because they love little McKay so much. Seriously you guys are amazing! These people really are special to us. We want to thank them again for everything. Words cannot express how we feel! What they have done is formed a committee and are using all their talented, creative minds to do some neat things for little McKay . So we've made this blog for McKay. Here you will find the foundation and info about what's happening. This means we'll be able to put down some stories and pictures and keep all our many friends and family from all over updated on what's going on and how he's doing.
See my blog links "miracles for mckay"

Service activity

Thanks for all of you in the ward who came to the service activity. Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We all accomplished so much in 2 1/2 hours. The people who we helped were so appreciative. Sometime in the near future I'll post some pictures.

just a reminder!

I just wanted to post a little reminder to all you ward members about the Ward Beautification Service Project tomorrow. We will meet at the church at 8:00. We have 5 homes that we will be working on. Now because we only have 5 yards to do I think we will be done a lot quicker than planed. So instead of meeting back at the church at 1:00 for pizza and Ice cream sandwiches, we will be meeting more around 10:30 or 11:00. I don't think it will take us all that long. Of course.... the more who show up to help.... the quicker we'll be done! Some have been asking me what to bring.... We need some lawn mowers, tillers, edgers, shovels, rakes, gloves, water, and wear working clothes. We've lined up some trucks and trailers, If we haven't contacted you about borrowing yours and you have access to one, please bring it! Some have asked if I will be going or is this just a guys job. YES I will be going, I'm going to pack up the van and the whole fam is going. I want this to be a family service project. I'm hoping Matthew and Hannah will do a little work too. But of course.... Keeping the little ones away from the mowers and tillers. I remember 2 days before we moved from Montpelier our ward did something like this. It turned out great. It was so neat to see families in the ward working and serving together. I will never forget it! So rise and shine early tomorrow morning and come on over and let's make some summerfield ward memories!!

Tyler Kenneth - 8 months old

another month has rolled by, I can't believe it!
What Tyler is up to:
a little talking here and there: ma ma ma & da da da
sitting like a pro
rolls (still hasn't rolled clear across the room yet)
loves to chew and suck on anything.
likes the baby in the mirror
likes to listen to dad and Matt play the piano
and still loves to be entertained by brother and sister
We love his little smile- He is such a happy boy.
and so much fun!!!

We are so glad you are in our family! We love you!

High school friend get-to-gether

Over Easter weekend we had a little gathering at my mom's in Smithfield.
in case you were wondering- these are some of my high school friends. John and I both went to Sky View, we're just five years apart. So now they have become his friends too! He is the old one of the bunch that's for sure, but hey they still like him! This picture of us cracks me up because it reminds me of our high school dance group pictures. We missed all you who couldn't make it. We'll have to do it again! It really was good to catch up with everyone. It's amazing how things change over the years. For example....look at all the kids! Heidi's hubby couldn't make it- He was out of town at a b-ball game- so we missed him. Joanna was quite the trooper herself... she had her baby just a couple days later! I'm glad she could hold off so they could come to the party! We want to thank all of you for coming. It really was fun-you all are such neat people!

WELCOME HOME!
John's mom and dad were serving a mission in Virginia. They were at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitor Center, and had a wonderful experience. After they visited some family, traveled and did some site seeing they finally made it to the Wasatch front to visit the 3 (out of 10) kids they have who live here. We all were so excited to see them! They got to meet Tyler and Jake for the first time. Jacob is Jim and Kara's second son. Welcome to the Roe family Baby Jacob!

Cousin Fun

Nan and Eric's oldest boy Richie got baptized in April. afterwards we went to their house for some food and visiting. Of course we found Rich and Matt outside playing hoops!
This other picture of Tyler looking at boompa is so cute, He's trying to figure out who this guy is.

All the cousins had fun at Dan's 3rd b-day party!
