Exciting News

We have some exciting news to share.....
We got a phone call from- MAKE A WISH fOUNDATION! Saying that McKay, along with his family has been excepted
to make a wish!

Right now we are at the stage of deciding what to wish for. It can be a wish for him. It can also be a wish that the whole family would benefit from. Back in the day the rule was the child had to voice his own wish. Well, rules have changed.... so now the family can do the wishing for the child. So who knows what we'll do! We really are excited about all this and actually can't quite believe it! Let me know if you have any idea's- I love to hear other people's Make a Wish Stories.

Oh my goodness! That is wonderful! I can't wait to hear what you do. Mikayla's dear friend with Leukemia has to make her wish within two years, which has really disappointed her mom because of course she chose Disneyworld...which is where they go every year any way! They would make it super special though, but it's really hard for a 4 year old to make such a big decision.

I'm so happy for you all. You are so deserving, and how special for McKay!

Tauna, How exciting! That is awesome. A little girl in my cul-de-sac with Luekemia and she made the cover of this years magazine. I went to the make a wish homepage to see a picture of her (couldn't find it), and found a bunch of make a wish stories. They were all incredible--you should read some of them to get an idea. Anyway I am so happy for you. That is something you guys really deserve!!

THAT IS SO AWESOME!!

I want to cry! MAW is VERY dear to my heart as I have been so involved with them, especially with the last company I worked for. I even got to go to a big "party" in Ohio and there were about 7 MAW children there. Their parents spoke and they showed video clips of their wish-- it was the most touching thing I'd ever witnessed to meet these children and to watch their stories.

This is an amazing organization and one that I donate to and support and even buy the MAW ornaments and trinket boxes every year.

I know you and John will make the best decision for the family. I'm so excited and happy, I'm crying! :)

Ask all of the 8 year old boys in your Ward where they'd like to go! I'm sure that you'll find somewhere that will accomidate your desires. Congratulations!!
Shane says to wish for a trip to Bear Lake. (ha ha) That's actually our wish.

Tauna,
That is so awesome! When I worked at Primary's I knew a few kids who were involved with Make a wish, but like the other post said, most of them chose something with Disney. I do remember one girl who chose Hawaii with her sister, but she was 17. Anyway, You guys deserve it, and you will have to let me know what you are going to do! I love the picture of McKay and Tyler!

We are going to try and come down over conference weekend though. I got your email about the get-to-together with the girls. John and Tauna, hello! My name is Amber Brunjes, and I'm John's cousin through the Roes. My mom is Earl's daughter, Bev. I was actually at your wedding, but I don't think I've seen you since then, so I know you won't remember me! I'm Mike's age, so I've kind of been silently catching up on all of you through your blogs by linking from Michelle's, and I thought it was time to actually say hi!
I'm very excited for you to be chosen to MAW. I remember when McKay was born and how worried everyone was, and I'm so glad to see him growing up. He looks so handsome and sweet there holding his little brother!

Oh, Tauna, it has been a while since I was on here, so I'm just barely catching up on the last month or two. This is FANTASTIC news! Your family deserves it so much. What a great once-in-a-lifetime chance this is for you. Whatever you all decide, make sure it includes Keith Urban, and then invite me along. (hee hee!)
Take care & again, we're SO happy for you! You deserve it!
